I'm not sure what the latter interfered with, but the writer's style remains consistent, i.e. unsalted, non-greasy, with extensive descriptions, extended articles that veer uncomfortably from the plot, monand otonous conversations embellished with "professional" expertise in the area of psychology, and so on.
