Experimenty s Shakespearem - mají smysl?:
Před lety se stal světoznámým muzikál, jehož příběh je inspirován Shakespearovým dramatem Romeo a Julie. Jeho autoři Arthur Laurents, Leonard Bernstein a Stephen Sondheim se k dílu "odvážně" přihlásili pod vlastními jmény a uvedli dílo pod titulem "West Side Story". Nebylo těžké uvědomit si, že je to "variace na shakespearovské téma" - koneckonců, to byl i záměr autorů od samého začátku. Jenom tenkrát buď umělci měli víc poctivosti a hrdosti v těle nebo marketingoví experti měli menší moc do všeho kafrat - anebo prostě tito umělci měli vlastní myšlenku, vlastní sdělení, které jen "navlékli" na shakespearovský motiv. Každopádně tahle moderní inspirace starého příběhu velkého barda se stala slavnou. Hlásí se k jeho odkazu, ale nevydává se za "oprášený originál". Všechny ty "modernizované" nejapnosti drze připisované velkému básníkovi mívají spíš jepičí život. - Zobrazit vlákno diskuze

Je to John N. Mitchell, ministr spravedlnosti Spojených států, později šéf druhé Nixonovy kampaně. Když mu Bernstein zavolal a zeptal se ho, jestli je pravda, že v době, kdy byl ministrem, řídil tajnej fond prezidentovy kampaně za znovuzvolení (z kterýho se vyplácely různý levoty a nezákonnosti, včetně vloupání do kanceláří Demokratů ve Watergatu) začal se vztekat a pořád jen opakoval Jéééžiš! Zavřeli ho tuším na 19 měsíců.

pucii, nezlobte se, ale opravdu se musíte ptát? Literatura je literatura a hudba je hudba. Pravda, někteří hudební skladatelé jsou zde i jako autoři, protože napsali své memoáry, memoáry svého "kolegy", jako např. H. Berlioz a F. Lizst. Někteří působili i jako pedagogové (L. Bernstein), jsou tu jejich popularizační knihy.
